"A heart for our community"
PramaLIFE is our community outreach programme across the Poole, Bournemouth and East Dorset areas, including the Barrington Centre in Ferndown. We offer a wide range of activities and services which look to directly tackle social isolation and lead to increased personal independence, self-sufficiency and dignity. Activities include:-
dementia and age friendly clubs,
chaplaincy and befriending,
carers’ support groups,
local community activities and,
Some of our clubs focus on specific hobbies like gardening, sporting memories or keep fit, some support those living with dementia, others simply a space where you can natter over coffee! We also provide social trips out with others on our minibus.
From the Barrington Centre we provide coach tours and holidays, a diverse range of events in our theatre and many activities run by local groups in our suite of rooms and dance studios.
We often partner with other organisations to support activities, such as Immanual Church in Southbourne, which a 'Family and Community Enrichment' programme. See FACE for more information.
The local community is a vital part of the care you need to maintain your independence at home. While your carer will support and advise on all aspects of your domestic situation, Prama feels it’s really important to maintain links to the outside world too.
Prama isn’t just about help at home, it can open the door to a whole new circle of friends who you can see regularly at our various clubs and outings. We’d love you to get involved.
A chance to relax and meet new people in warm and friendly surroundings.
Support Groups For Carers
These groups provide essential support to family and friend carers, young and older.
A network of people who can support clients and carers at home.
PramaLIFE took on the work of Age Concern Poole in 2016 and continues to deliver those same, trusted and popular services as well as developing many new activities in and around Poole.
