Charity Shops

Our seven charity shops offer a range of preloved items - a wonderful collection of donated goods, ranging from clothes, to household goods to furniture and more.

We are always looking for good quality used or surplus items to stock in our shops. Electrical products are accepted for PAT testing.

If you have some free time, why not come in and volunteer for a few hours with us in one of our shops? You'll be in good company - our shops volunteers are an award winning team and were recognised in the 2016 Dorset Volunteering Awards! Volunteering will help you learn new skills, meet new people and you will be helping us to raise valuable funds that go directly towards Prama's work, supporting Dorset's older people, people with dementia and carers.  Call 01202 207300 or pop into one of our shops in West Moors, Kinson, Tuckton, Parkstone, Ashley Cross, Ringwood or on Poole High Street for a chat.

Launching soon :  preloved items on the official Prama ebay page.

“Prama provide the best carers I’ve had”

Love talking sport?

A new memory and discussion group for older sports fans will begin on Saturday 10th September in Parkstone.  The group is open to all older people who love sport but is designed to stimulate people who have memory loss and dementia.  Research shows that friendly discussion groups can help combat feelings of depression, loneliness and social isolation.  The group has been developed by Dorset charity Prama, Poole Well-Being Collaborative and Poole Social Prescription Service and will be using materials from the national Sporting Memories Foundation.

Group organiser, Bridget Barrett of Prama commented; “Sporting Memories is designed to keep older people connected by tapping into their passion for sport.  The group is open to anyone over the age of 50 who loves sport, but the group will particularly focus on people living with memory problems or dementia to trigger long-held memories of watching or playing sport”.

People are welcome to attend alone or come along with a family member or carer and the group will also welcome volunteers who are interested in sport and want to join in.  The first group will take place on Saturday 10th September, 10am-midday and will then take place alternative Saturdays at Alderney Community Centre and Social Club, 287 Herbert Avenue, Parkstone, BH12.  Further information from Bridget Barrett on 01202 207300.
