PramaLIFE, which includes the Barrington Centre Ferndown, is the name of our our community based social and support programme run in Dorset for local older people, carers and people suffering from memory loss or dementia. Led by staff with the support of volunteers, we run over sixteen clubs and groups each week attended by over 350 people. These include;
Running the Barrington Centre in Ferndown: a centre for all ages. Delivering a popular community hub in the heart of Ferndown including many activities to enrich lives, coach trips, a coffee shop cafe, as well as a popular music and show venue.
Pop-in social clubs: Prama run 7 weekly Pop-ins for older people providing friendship, fun, refreshments, outings and day trips so people can build friendship and stay active as they age.
Memory Lane Cafes: Prama run five weekly Memory Lane groups for people suffering with memory loss and dementia and a Sporting Memories club for people to share memories of watching and playing sport.
Carers' Support Groups: Prama run five regionally based support groups for people providing unpaid care to loved ones, a young carers' group and a Christian Carers' group. These meet regularly and organise outings to give carers opportunities to have time away from their caring responsibilities.
PramaLIFE welcome charitable donations and put those to good use, funding activities and services that support local people be independent and lead fulfilling lives.
